Poem: For My Husband / Til mannen min

For my husband

When I searched online for love

on that lonely summer night

I did hope but not expect

that I would find «mr. Right»

You held me as we slept

and I fell in love with you

I woke you with a whisper

and the word itself was new

We’d been together for a year

when my mind got lost at sea

you were the lighthouse keeper

sending beams of light to me

Then when I was ill again

you proposed and did not leave

you have always been my husband

that’s what I believe

You held on to me and us

through my sickest and my worst

of course you are my last

but you also were my first

Til mannen min

Liksom som en skygge

eller en fotnote på siden

har du alltid vært der

vi ventet kun på tiden

riktig år - riktig dag

og riktig slag på klokken

dagen da vi møttes tror jeg

skjebnen selv var kokken

som blandet sammen alle

ingredienser for å få

tilberedt det livet

vi har med hverandre nå

du holdt fast i meg – og oss

på mitt aller sykeste

selv om du er sterk – og hard

er du for meg den mykeste

jeg er din – og du er min

i alle dagene som kommer

på kalde netter – vinterdager

er vi hverandres sommer

enkle ting og enkle ord

kan ofte være størst;

jeg har har vært i forhold før

men du var alltid først

Poem: Reality Kicks

Photo taken by Terese Blåklokke with Agfa Clack on 120 mm film.

Reality Kicks

Learning the truth
can tear you apart
wrench your guts
and change
    your heart

the solution is simple
but hard to complete
you must
    let it rip
and reap the wheat

you must welcome
    the actual
braincrunching fact
that the «experts»
    you trust
are all part
    of an act

they’re playing
    their parts
as government tools
not knowing they too
are brainwashed
    fools

«this poet is joking
she’s surely sarcastic»
you laugh
    as your brain
turns more
    into plastic

Poem: Same uten språk

About this poem:

This poem is about the language that was

stolen from me and many others with sámi

heritage in Norway before we were born.

It is written in Norwegian but I hope to some

day translate it to both sámi (davvisámegiella)

and english.

February 6th is the national day for the

indigenous sámi people in Norway, Finland,

Sweden and Russia.

Wish me "lihkku beivviin".

SAME UTEN SPRÅK

Alit leter etter samisk

det forsvant før han ble født

Alit har et samisk flagg

men det er bare rødt

Alit snakker samisk

men han kan ingen ord

Alit er fra Sápmi

men det er ikke der han bor

Alit leter etter språket

som han ikke kan

Alit leter mellom fjell

han leter under vann

Alit leter i sitt hjerte

og finner store sår

skapt av staten Norge

gjennom mange år

*

Han opplevde det ikke

men det føles som i går

at urett ble begått

mot et folk som fortsatt står

opp til livs i konsekvenser

av et språk som brant

du tror så ille var det ikke

og det kan ikke være sant

men om du spør en same

kanskje en du kjenner

så vil nok mange svare

at språket fortstatt brenner.

Poem: Towards the Light

Photo taken by Terese Blåklokke with Olympus OM10 on 35mm film.

Towards the Light

On my head a flower blooms

its roots are in my mind

we all have roots like that inside

even the cruel and unkind

what is the reason

of thoughtlessness

hate

is it not merely

straying from fate

we are many broken weeds

but we all bear seeds of flowers

remember you are worthy

even without powers

you do magic

just by living

trust in God

he is forgiving

write your story

start anew

something’s blooming

    - it is you!
