KNORK: Gnarly Plerfth

KNORK: Gnarly Plerfth

Knork changes

often

and extra

when

a monster

he encounters

his fears

doubts and

dreams

are mirrored

in the monsters

gnarly plerfth*

Knork beams

with blooming

boots as

the monster

appears

not in

colored lines

but black

ink filled

with wet

unpredictable

colors of

a (to Knork)

unknown

and new

material

flowing until

it suddenly

dries up

thank you

gnarly plerfth

says Knork

thank you for

the new glow

*"Plerfth" definition:

The meaning of the word "plerfth" is obvious

but nearly impossible to describe with words.

perhaps you will be enlightened.

Poem: You Roll Your Eyes

"Blood-Brain Barrier" taken on 35mm film with Olympus OM10 (2018).

You Roll Your Eyes

How is your problem

created by me

(in the empty mirror

you cannot see)

Might it be - simply:

You were offended

that I did not continue

where your hatred ended

Could it be – maybe

(this one is tough)

that I trigger a feeling:

«To not be enough»

Oh no – is it worse:

Do you actually need

to break others down

(is this how you feed)

Perhaps - this is better

(let us just hope):

You think I am carefree

while «poor you» can’t cope

The list could go on

and sadly - it will

(you might just be dumb)

- but there is hope still

You hurt me a little

(in an indirect way)

because: I see what you think

and it’s not what you say

*

You roll your eyes

I roll mine too

yours roll back

mine rolls through

Poem: She Stands Alone

"Blooming Elephant" watercolor and marker on paper (2025).

She Stands Alone

The talk behind her back

is stupid at its best

    for them it is «inclusion»

for her - it is a test

He quotes her out loud

in a negative tone

    in front of his group

    while she stands alone

She says to herself

in her outspoken mind

    I will forgive him

perhaps - if he is kind

He kept on with his mocking

for an hour or so

    unaware of the cost

    but someday he will know

She carried the grudge

for a minute or two

    then she let go

    because she already knew

Poem: Fear of Heights

Digital photograph of Andenes lighthouse (2026).

Fear of Heights

For many years

my fear of heights

had kept me

on the floor

I never thought

anxiety

could be

an open door

A tear fell down

for every step

but every step

I took

Was also filled

with focus

on a certain

holy book

I read

the word of God

loudly

in my head

Quoting

every word

I could recall

in red

The next time up

I worried

but something

in me knew

There would be

no trembling fear

I’d just

enjoy the view

About: Castle Made of Air

For many years I was
a delusional atheist.

When my brain woke up
so did my hungry soul.

The elephant in the room
(the fact that God is real)
was beginning to look a lot
like a castle made of air

and

endless elephants

stretching beyond infinty.

I needed to put it inside
something smaller.

What is smaller than words?

I needed
a written religion.

The religion of my choice had to include
an ideal (preferably perfect) role model.

Like a God.

One God.

The God.

I wanted to follow the true almighty God
not the rules of some leader(s) of a cult.

The religion had to be known
or at least not too obscure.

Line up the alternatives!

Buddhism: No God.

Hinduism: Many Gods.

Wicca: Weird.

Satanism: Silly.

Woke: Cult.

Judaism: Lacking.

Islam: Tainted.

Christianity: Jesus Christ.

I asked God for advice and
"the biblical God" replied.

Literary speaking.

Jesus Christ is the best guide.

 Then my question became:

Can I believe in Jesus Christ?

The answer still echoes.

If anyone tries to stop me

God will rip them apart

and fill my cup with

strawberry milkshake

as He drains

the hate

in their heart.

Amen.

Poem: Hell is Yellow

"Jelly Flowers" (2026) watercolor and marker.

Hell is Yellow

For long God has let

the kids fool around

getting stupid and lost

before they are found

When they came home

most of them died

and did not find their path

if they even tried

Now God will go out

and play with His toys

happy and innocent

just like other boys

While Gods stricter partner

also known as His wife

will teach you to live

after your life

Education continues

every soul shall be saved

and they will go to heaven

being well-behaved

Those who loved to hate

will love their God instead

and hate itself will die

as the Devil goes to bed

Hell shall be redecorated

and turned into a park

with flowing fields of flowers

where there used to be «the dark»

And all the sleeping sinners

find forgiveness on their pillow

as they wake up - full of wonder:

«It was black - now Hell is yellow»

KNORK: Flat Surface

Knork is drawn with markers on paper and put in squares using Gimp on Linux.

KNORK: Flat Surface

Knork may appear

Distant or invisible
at times

On other occations
he gleams

Beyond the limits
of his surrounding

Square

There is only one Knork
but he can be viewed

By many different eyes
in many different places

At the exact same time

Knork dances
with colorful lines

Made by a marker
on white paper

Viewed through pixels
on a completely different

Flat surface

Poem: 3:00 AM Exorcism

"Lower the Elephant", watercolor and marker (2026).

3:00 AM Exorcism

My body is a church
where evil comes to die

Angels praise the Lord
while demons testify

The air upon my shoulders
is weighing heavy in the night

As I slowly let it out
replacing it with light

You do not know my burden
neither does my mind

But I know this is true:
God is great – and He is kind

He looks into the worst of hate
and says «you can forgive»

So the world may crush and kill me
but I will always live

A Poem to the Past

Some people laughed and pointed
I saw their words got in your head

As you got off the bus your eyes
looked sad and slightly dead

I wish that I had told you
the things I knew but couldn’t say

I’d tell you life is not a line
and there always is a way

I’m writing you this poem (now)
I’ll send it back in time

And as it reaches you (back then)
in a dream you’ll hear a rhyme

When you wake up it’s forgotten
but the feeling shall remain

You are stronger – you are loved
and weaker is your pain

About: The Believer

I used to be an atheist.

My perspective has changed
so has my heart, mind and soul.

I know very well what it's like
to believe in "science" - which is
equal to trusting in the description
of reality - perceiving the words
as explanation of basic truth.

Words are merely words

feelings cannot be written

neither can colors

or faith.

When I meet an atheist
or someone who puts themselves
within a similar category

it is not rare that
they speak about (my) faith as
something stupid and naive.

My eyes are mirrors

reflecting the dark

and you

are not invisible.

KNORK: Word of Knork

KNORK: Word of Knork

Knork reflects
upon the mystery
of his existence
while the thoughts
in his paper-and-marker mind

floats

onto a square
which places itself
within an envelope
somewhere
in the future

Knork transparently awaits
the arrival of his own words
in a later square

«What did I tell myself
today?» Knork ponders

Poem: The Afterlife Exam

Watercolor and marker on paper.

The Afterlife Exam

Welcome to school

here is your place

now rip out your soul

and open your face

Your character card

has been reviewed

the life that you lived

will be renewed

Not in the shape

or structure it had

’cause your life was good

but you made it bad

All that you did,

said, thought and meant

can be repaired - but

will you repent?

«Surely» you smirk

«there’s another way

I’m loaded with money

I’ll simply pay»

Of course you will pay

everyone must

but all we can bring

from our grave - is dust

Now you’re a fly

buzzing around

eating a leftover

poop that you found

Poem: "God Is Not Real"

Photo taken with Agfa Clack on 120mm film.

«God Is Not Real»

Your arguments are many

like «war and hate exist»

    so does peace and love

is that also on your list?

You claim God isn’t real

that «nothing» is my guide

    confidently stating «if he

    was real he wouldn’t hide»

If there is only «nothing»

how embarrassing for me

    who blindly put my faith

in a God I cannot see

All those hours spent

with the «nothing» in the air

    building inner strength

    by thinking God was there

What a waste of time

all those prayers – all that hope

    if only I knew «nothing»

I could rather moan and mope

Instead I’ve felt the power

of «God» inside my heart

    while drawing faithful lines

    in my poetry and art

You think I’m rather silly

perhaps delusional and dumb

    I pity you for this

I see your soul - and it is numb
