A Poem to the Past

Some people laughed and pointed
I saw their words got in your head

As you got off the bus your eyes
looked sad and slightly dead

I wish that I had told you
the things I knew but couldn’t say

I’d tell you life is not a line
and there always is a way

I’m writing you this poem (now)
I’ll send it back in time

And as it reaches you (back then)
in a dream you’ll hear a rhyme

When you wake up it’s forgotten
but the feeling shall remain

You are stronger – you are loved
and weaker is your pain
